Gannochy Lodge - Fishing, Shooting
and Accommodation in Angus, Scotland
Gannochy Lodge is situated towards the eastern end of the Grampian
Mountains. Glen Esk and Glen Lethnot are recognised as being two
of the most attractive glens in Angus. The property occupies a magnificent
location comfortably within a two hour drive of Edinburgh, approximately
one hour from Aberdeen Airport, and 40 minutes from Dundee airport.
Built in 1971 to traditional Victorian design, the property offers
delightful classically furnished and homely accommodation. Historically
Gannochy formed part of the Dalhousie's estate. The old lodge was
demolished in the early 1970's and was replaced by the magnificent
country house which was built to the design of W. Schomberg Scott,
formerly architect to the National Trust for Scotland.
Set in 40 acres of private grounds, the full glory of the house
is complemented by beautifully maintained gardens and grounds,
incorporating the famous Loups gorge and River North Esk (a recognised
SSSI site), 5km of private outstanding salmon and trout fishing,
beautiful beech wood walks immediately outside the Lodge, and also
a tennis court for the more energetic.
